KRISTIN DAHL: INTEGRATION OF DIMENSIONS

by Meagan Henry

I first met Kristin Dahl in LA  over kale chips and kombucha á la The Butcher's Daughter  to interview her for the platform I was running at the time, S-Life Mag. I'd known of Kristin for years prior, and sitting down to chat with her was dreamy. After, I was left longing to peer deeper into her heart, to find out more about the intimacies of her gorgeous relationship with herself, and Source. I feel grateful to have gotten that chance, here now, with the below interview. These words bring me much peace. I trust they will for you, too.

Today, Kristin is still in LA, working on her creation Dahl House Nutrition, as a nutritionist, chef and author. She's got the freshest taste on holistic living in this modern world. Her specialties are in consulting, plant-based cooking, and holistic wellness programs. She empowers, educates, and motivates individuals to make the transformation to total and complete health. For more, check out her book The Art of Wellness, as well as her inspiring Instagram feed. XX

What environment do you hail from?

I grew up surrounded by land, nature reserves, close to rivers and oceans and a fluid sense of being. Nature is where I find my heart  this is the place I return to time and time again for a sense of what’s real. The natural world is the place that I feel most grounded. Most connected to truth. Most clear. It is where intuition and insights flow freely to me.

There is profound wisdom in connecting to the earth, as the earth is the source of everything. Its energy feeds us and in its purest form, it is the life force that awakens us. Nature invites us to reconnect to the inherent state of our being, it invites us into the deepest states of our consciousness and offers us a sense of belonging. It reminds us of the interconnectedness of all of life.

Lately, I’ve been inspired so much by both worlds. The lush, vibrant energy of the earth and the intense, fiery energy of city life — both offer dynamic gifts and inspire me to live a virtuous life.

What is your work? And what, if anything, in your personal life has influenced that?

I’m a healer at heart. I am a holistic nutritionist & the founder of Dahl House Nutrition. I’m also the founder & creator of The 21 Day Transformation Program and The Women’s Wellness Collective

My personal journey of self-healing, self-discovery and self-mastery has led me to this work. The deeper I dive into my own complexities, the more profound my offerings become. I support people from a place of compassion, understanding, and personal experience.

What creative endeavors do you feel drawn to at this time?

I’m currently feeling called to connect with a broader audience and make myself more accessible to women in need of healing and radical transformation. We are in a time of intense revelation, a time in which darkness is being reflected back to us on an almost daily basis. It’s time for us to step up and do the deeper work on ourselves — healing our body ailments, overcoming our childhood wounding, and transforming our unconscious beliefs so we can offer more of ourselves in our intimate relationships and communities at large.

In such a crazy saturated wellness world, what does "holistic living" entail for you?

My life has become a rich, dynamic, deep, and interconnected experience. Whole-istic in the sense that I’m continuously working to integrate the many complex layers and dimensions of my self and become more self-aware. For me, holistic living isn’t just about sipping green juice and abstract yoga poses. It’s about leading a heart-centered life that is rich and varied, full of raw emotions, and vulnerable truths.

How did you learn to tap into your divine guidance? Today, what are your favorite ways to do so?

I started by getting clear  by having the strength to overcome addictions, which clouded my mind — addictions to spending, eating, drinking & drugging. Overcoming addictions offered a pathway and clear channel to my senses. It heightened my consciousness and awareness of messages coming to me on a daily basis.

If we allow space and quietude, intuition flows into every experience.

Meditation is a powerful tool for connecting to intuition. I go in and out of stages of “siting” daily for meditation. For weeks or months at a time I will take a moment each morning and welcome the day with stillness. Other times, my daily life becomes a meditative practice. I believe that with enough presence and mindfulness any task can become meditative.

Lately, regularly unplugging from technology & taking space for quiet reflection offers so much clarity. It’s imperative that we allow this space for ourselves.

What does "Beauty" mean to you?

Beauty is being in full acceptance of each and every intricate layer of our bodies, our lives, and ourselves. It’s a warm hug, a warm meal, a feeling of being deeply nurtured by another, awareness in the present moment, and an intimate connection to Nature. Beauty is spreading love outward and offering service to those around us. It’s sharing our light with our friends and loved ones and feeling fully alive in each moment.
